Yesteryear Collection

On 20th March 1925, permission was given by the Surrey Standing Joint Committee for the force to purchase a general utility van for use at headquarters at a cost not exceeding £490. The van would be evaluated for possible use within the police force area.
On the 14th December 1925 the chief constable Captain ML Sant reported back to the Joint Committee the efficient working which had resulted through the possession of the motor van at headquarters, and that the running of the van had proved most economical. He also suggested that a second van of a cheaper make be purchased for use in the Farnham Division at a cost not exceeding £300.
